SUPPORTING A PARTICULAR INDIVIDUAL?
WE OFFER PERSON-SPECIFIC TRAINING FOR THOSE IN SUPPORTING ROLES
As part of our person-centred approach, we can create custom packages built around the specific needs of an individual.

The training is designed to help those in supporting roles understand the best ways to deliver support and improve the quality of life for the person they care for.
Prior to training, we conduct a phase of information gathering and assessments that help us understand the individual's background and behaviours. This information allows us to identify potential triggers and develop a trauma-informed approach that prioritises safety and emotional well-being.

We then develop a customised plan with clear and actionable strategies to meet the individual's needs which may include:

-
Positive reinforcement strategies
-
Proactive strategies to address potential triggers and prevent behaviours that may challenge,
-
De-escalation techniques to manage challenging behaviours calmly and effectively,
-
Communication strategies tailored to the individual's communication style.
We also offer half-day training on specialist topics that help you gain a better understanding of behaviour management and ways improve quality of life
ACTIVE SUPPORT AND INCREASING QUALITY OF LIFE
Active support is a fundamental concept in PBS that focuses on promoting independence, engagement, and skill development in individuals with IDD while reducing the occurrence of behaviours that challenge. This training package goes beyond the fundamentals to provide you with comprehensive understanding of Active Support within the context of PBS.
TRAUMA INFORMED CARE
GOING FURTHER
Trauma-informed care recognises the potential impact of trauma on individuals with IDD and emphasises creating a safe and supportive environment that promotes healing, resilience, and overall well-being. The training package provides a deeper understanding of trauma-informed care through the nuance of developmental conditions and learning disabilities.
TOTAL COMMUNICATION
Total Communication within the context of PBS is an approach that emphasises the use of a variety of methods and strategies to effectively support individuals with no, or limited, communication skills and the impact that this may have on behaviours that challenge.
